2002
So much has happened
this year
I somehow hate to see it go.
Associations changed
and then
closed
on a life that does not involve them
beyond their dear friendship.
Cities swirl
in the midst of the move from Nashville
to Chicago
and now
wondering
where the future will find me.
Faith is tested
and renewed
in God’s faithfulness to my
constant
questioning.
Love has found me
in a man I could never have dreamt up,
if I had tried.
How can the new year
possibly
be better than that?
The lows that came with realizing
each milestone
tell me it can get much better,
I just can’t imagine it
yet.
God has to pull that off,
and I see him arranging it.
