Best Time
Here I go again
Lying on bed, drifting away
Thinking if I could have a better sleep.
Raindrops pouring heavily on roof deck
Reminds me of your sweet caress.
“This is the best time…”
Still I can hear your whisper
Side by side, the warmth can be felt.
Bedtime isn’t always for sleep
We had our moments to speak
To resolve some problems and query
Cuddling up as we weave our reverie.
But that was long time ago
When we’re still young and on the go.
So much responsibilities keep us apart
Though, I always keep you in my mind
Your image drawn on my shut-eye
The sheet acts to warm my cold arms.
I have only one wish if we could reach
The retirement period, the peak of our age.
Could we still sleep together at night?
Hold my hand, squeeze me tight
‘Til your bony hand and mine get tired.
Patiently I can ignore your snore that’s too loud
Just to be with you ‘til the last breath of my life.
