Trying Again
Words stringed together in rhyme,
Simple melodies I have played
Or strings pulled
From my own mind...
I see them again behind
The white-lined blackness
Of tomorrow's time...
Delineated by days and hours
And each remaining
Between two ends of a page,
Then, there is a beginning again,
A fresher place to play,
An old tune refined,
As if it was never heard before
And breaking through the barrier,
I resolved to try again once more
To regain the reason
For believing in today...
A purpose that seemed secured
Only yesterday but kept alive
Hoping to be reborn tomorrow
And find happiness at last...
