Reminiscing The Cold War
When sleep cruising the night would linger not,
In bed laden with time worn cares, it bleeds,
For a cause, unknown, and the congealed blot,
Concealed the healing wounds of feuding creeds.
Might Winter yield to early sprouts of Spring,
Bringing newer thoughts, of a newer clime,
And, these quibbles, might it quash, so to bring,
Idylls of much awaited summer time.
But lo! The trifles have remained unfazed,
Like blizzards of the night that oft recur,
Gave snowy graves for all that have been razed,
Even to peace, that rife times would augur.
Indeed, of cliches, this, is true, so far,
That seeds of peace are sown in times of war.
