The Moon’s Betrayal
At night the branches and leaves of the nearby trees
cast shadows upon the window blinds.
When the moon tells the wind of their state of rest
they’re changed into creatures of a haunting kind.
They tap on the glass as though they want to come in,
then go away for a moment, and then return again.
After a while the wind takes a rest and ceases to blow,
but the creatures are still there, and they refuse to go.
