Mockingjay
I never opted
For abhorrence
But there was a serration
In your lattices, that I
Can no longer endure
I love you too much
That I need to hate you
So I can spare
Myself my redemption
I never wished
For these torrent rivulets
Where your angst flow
Gushing with your
Indifference and ignorance
Making everything
Easier to loathe
Easing the guilt
With your oppressing
Selfishness
I never wanted
To run from freezing brooks
Where the birds weep
And the tears froze
But with every word you spoke
The glacial sheet
Underneath our feet
Shatters and break
With no appetite
To be mended
Can you not see
The unlatched beauty?
Isn't this what you hoped for?
Talk about lies
Like the cobwebs in your heart
But you never knew much
About the truth
For all you know
Is the same choreography
Of your waters
Talk about pain
But be careful
Because you might unsheathe
All that you have caused
And you might uncover
Underneath the dusts
The time when you
Ever cared
Other than
Your lonely sea.
I only did
What the mockingjay did
And isn't this
What you always wished
As you tossed and turned
Trying to put
Your jealousy to sleep?
Now while you
Redeem your price,
Let me be the mockingjay
And keep your words away
From me and my own parcel
Of a tragedy.
