Ashen Yellow Daffodils
Like an eagle
in distant altitude
(only it was the other way around)
I watched you
swaying like yellow daffodils
your sweet pollens
failing to reach me
Vertiginously, I mused
on my poor magnitude
like chess pieces
with no other move
deadlocked into
a struggle fortified
by the taste of defeat
The foot prints I left
to trace you back
are unwoven with utmost care
because the quartz didn't recognize
my empty weight
when I vied and left
With my stars felled
from my jeopardizing sky
there's no one left
to become the warden
of my eccentricities
and I am but a prison
of myself
There is lost
and there is blame
on myself
for the sun that set
on my shabby heaven.
