Throw Caution to Wind
When I was down with a stomach ailment,
And was asked to abstain
From my favourite foods and condiments,
I didn’t complain.
When my blood pressure became too high,
And the doctor asked me to lose weight
So I could live long,
I thought money on the gym was well spent.
When I injured my back
I was asked to take bed rest,
It didn’t help
So I felt quite upset.
But now they tell me it could be cancer,
Because some abnormal cells they found during a routine test.
And have warned me I could be in danger,
But we will do our best.
Finally I have thrown caution to winds,
And follow my own instinct.
Everything can be cured with laughter
And spending time in nature.
So I have booked a ticket,
For a flight on the internet
To take me on the seaside,
Where my best friend lives on the beach.
I know we will laugh
Till our sides burst out.
Watch the sun, waves and bright fishing boats
With my feet wet with sand, sitting on a black rock.
I have always believed in nature cure,
And healing power of laughter.
Living in fear is not my cup of tea
So I am off to revel in sun, sand and sea.
