The Seduction Of The Vampire
In her way she encircled him
told him in their talk the night before
of her desires and fears with her eyes
stroking then his flowing cape
mesmerized by his stately broad gestures
his white, long slender fangs
tingling with, she thought, some previous nights
blood-soaked delight;
and she could see he desired her too
was attracted to her soft dinner table tremblings
as she sat next to him.
But then that interest devolved to mild interest
perhaps, she thought, sated from other conquests
or perhaps more attracted to other lades
who looked plying for his staring eyes.
Or, perhaps she thought, he was not attracted to her
so she small-gestured to him her gleaming white neck
while reaching for the salad fork
feeling him react
mentioning in the process
that she always left her window open
at night
communicating to him
that she was often afraid
that someone or something would fly in
and have his way with her;
but, she kept it open nonetheless
communicating to him that she felt a need for him
communicated to him her fear
because she knew that fear was attractive to vampires
and then she saw his interest rise
a gleam in his eye;
And that night she did keep the window open
allowed the white curtains
to billow in the dark;
pale flags
beaconing,
at last framing a specter
flying across the moon
a blood red moon
framed with stabbing clouds;
framing there, too, the shadowy figure
which came closer and closer
until the Ebony Raven
flapped landing just inside her open window
transforming slowly into the Him she knew
handsome and exciting;
her dinner guest of last evening
stood staring at her
she looking away quickly averting her gaze
exposing deliberately too
her neck to him
hoping to draw him closer
making to him, thereby, silent promises
sensing too, then, his rising excitement
feeling her own blood red blood flow
surging in her aorta
loud enough to be heard
surging to her brain
filling it with her own forbidden intents;
riveting, thereby, his gaze
exciting her
as he then glided toward her prone body
now beside her bed
his mouth
his lips curling
as he bent
to have a closer look at her
as she stared away;
she now swooning within
a gathering of anticipations
and deep longings.
He stood there, she sensed
full of his own silent sense;
she wanted to be taken
to be sucked
to feel those hot fangs
drive deeply
into her
Flesh and Soul;
he silent, not moving;
she making up her mind
that she would be his that night
that she had
dressed all in white
snow angel spread
upon her bed
anticipating that he could
come
and give her his flagon
of Immortality,
his red draining needs
which would explode within
her blood stream
where in the end
she would live forever
bound to him;
he and she
roaming the world
night time lovers
forever in need
of that red elixir to drink.
He stood at the foot of her bed;
she froze a freeze which was an ice cold bath of anticipation
falling upon her from his silent breathing
but loud enough to make her quake.
“I, ” he said softly
“have not come
to seduce you tonite.'
It was shocking to her
utterly shocking.
She rose slowly
to get a better look at his face in the dim light.
He sat on her bed, looking at her intently,
silently.
She thought: 'Death isn't so bad if you live forever.'
