Becoming One With GOD
Silently skipping along the Suwannee’s edge,
Listening to the swift waters give their pledge,
Quickly carrying the Earths excess to the sea,
Where a hot sun awaits to set the purity free.
Trying to envision the enigmatic waters spirit,
Seeing its determination, I openly cheer for it,
My praise to its Creator ring so loud and clear,
As I feel His very presence draw ever so near,
Large sturgeons jump waters face as they play,
Nearing a landing made from natural gray clay,
Hearing a call from a wind rustling in the trees,
Saying walk life not alone come walk with me.
Recalling when as a youth I would here walk,
As with my Cherokee ancestors I would talk,
Trek with honor within life’s circle to the end,
Keep truth and peace to everything be a friend.
Attend to Wisdom’s every cry doing your part,
Better to give than receive, from all evil depart,
Full circle the savior will call, life here is done,
Returning with Jesus the Son, to GOD as one.
