An Old Addiction
You'll find me in the dark spaces between the stars
Where the cold wind blows through my rib-cage
And the moon slowly wanders.
You won't find me hanging round bars
Nursing a pint to shelter me
And ward off the lonely tears.
I'm 'cured' now, but I still carry the scars
Life gave me and the pain that I got rid of
By drinking too many beers.
It was a way to drown out the sorrow,
Just at the price of a hangover tomorrow,
And I've missed it for so many years.
