A Secret
I did something wrong
Those who know, know
Those who don't, don't
I've lived with the guilt
From that day to this day
We take a stroll each day
And make a roll in a hay
I've done my time
I guess...its more than taking your dime
Or you holding your wound in violet iodine
Hoping I'll tell you in this line
What it is indeed I've done
Don't hold your breath
Till my dust returns to earth
And I stand at heaven's gate
Waiting for my reward on a revenge plate
For all I've done wrong on this wait
Will God himself say
Turn and go away
Or come and sit and stay
Don't hold your breath my friend I say
For you won't be there that day
As you weren't there the day
I did something wrong
And refused to forgive myself all my life long.
