The Western Stars
On my blankets I was lyin’
Too tired to lift my head,
An’ the long hot day was dyin’
An’ I wished that I was dead.
From the West the gold was driven.
I watched the death of day,
An’ the distant stars of Heaven
Seemed to draw my heart away.
