The Last Coup De Rideau
The last time
That you left
Prima Donna, you were in your prime
It was like death
You were as bumptious as a peacock
And I was an injured fighting cock
A badly disabled rooster
A shamelessly humiliated warrior
Who needed a Savior
An amateur social worker
To guide me and to show me the way
Instead, you fled away
Like a passing Canadian geese
You left me drowning in tears
I was incredibly sad
And extremely mad
Things happen, I guess, for a reason
Now, it is a new and different season
I have gone great length
To gain amazing inner strength
To rehabilitate my soul
All along, I was never a fool
Who was afraid to endure
Excruciating pain
In vain
Deep inside me, I was sure
Despite the blind sun
Despite the dark moon
Despite the gloomy weather
After fighting hard, I would wake up better
Than yesterday
Spring is here, it is the month of May
It is my time to rejuvenate
And to walk away from the destined ill-fate.
