At The Rivers Edge
Through the ages
looking
searching
so many faces
unfamaliar.
Then standing
at the rivers
edge
I caught a
glimpse
of the face
forever haunting
my dreams.
Lying in wait
unclaimed
a face more
dainty than a
doll
so defined.
Reaching across
the expanse
of time
extending my
hand to touch.
The skies suddenly
darkened
elements wept
promises written
with tears remain.
