We Descend
Observe life as a spiralling dance,
It twirls with no rest down the years,
Taking those minutes of chance,
Rotating them with happiness and tears.
Lifting the heart to sheer heights,
Sending paths down darkening ways,
Swirling moments into bright lights,
Changing time into shadowy greys.
Facing each day and each night,
Every hour steadily we descend,
Through a rollercoaster's rushing flight,
To a slow gentle spiralling end.
