Firmly Stand the Trees
Firmly stand the trees on high
in God's firmament.
gracing the goodness of the earth
though it's not permanent.
For just as we have come to stay
for a limited time
Each tree that grows before our eyes
succumbs to its lifeline..
Rings do count its years of life
like the wrinkles on our face.
And if not cut down by man's indifference
enjoys its precious space.
Oh mankind'tis sad to see
that the trees we look upon
have become for many, firewood
whose ashes then are done.
