When I Was Alone
The wind whispers sweet nothings in my ear,
The rain pours down on my head slowly,
Even God sheds an occasional tear.
The body becomes weak,
The mind stays strong,
Lord I am tired,
I can't stand alone for too long,
And then I realize that I am not alone,
God's always been with me,
But I'm just too stubborn to go home,
Just too stubborn to go home.
Life is like a river,
Flowing into death's eternal sea,
Yet I am sure that even though it may be time,
There's still life left for me,
There's still life left for me.
I have been many things in this life,
And I regret not one,
God alone can judge me,
When my time has come.
