From Slumber
The sun came beckoning
through my window today,
tempting me to come outside.
Blue skies stretched to the horizons
breathing in a beautiful new day
beholding to our senses and eyes.
Outside the fresh air
swirled around me
as the Sunday morning sunshine
warmed my tired bones,
rejuvenating them
for all the trials to come.
Birds chattered in the trees
while other creatures stirred
from their silent sleep
for a new day of living had begun
under the blue skies
and the sun's warming rays.
