Fingers Of Loneliness
The fingers of loneliness
can sometimes touch the warmest heart
making it feel isolated
when no one is around.
We stand on pinnacles of our own desire
that are often consumed by fire
leaving us scorched and lonely,
too heated to be touched.
We feel engulfed in sadness,
our shouts cannot be heard
and we wonder what we have said
when we have no angry words.
Our hearts beat a distant beat
that echoes out to no one
when the fingers of loneliness
touch deep inside our soul.
