Faded Loves
Near the sky west and crooked,
I stood on the hill of broken dreams,
recalling all the lost loves
I had so long ago.
Their faces swirl around me
as a sad reflection.
I recall how with each one there,
love faded beyond repair.
However, with those sad reflections
I look at what I have now
and wonder if I would have been
as happy as I am now.
If those old loves hadn’t faded
like the morning mist warmed by the sun.
One will never know what might have happened,
or where I‘d be today.
